Electricity is composed of real power, measured in watts, and reactive power, quantified by a unit called Volt-Ampere Reactive, or VARs, which induce electro-magnetism and boost transmission efficiency. Most solar inverters ignore VARs, and  they can lose 50 percent of the available energy.
